BANANA CAKE 
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 bananas, mashed
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1 c. nuts
2 tsp. baking soda in 6 tbsp. buttermilk

Cream butter, eggs, and sugar. Add buttermilk and soda. Mix in flour. Add bananas, pecans and vanilla. Bake in 2 to 3 round cake pans at 350 degrees until done.

ICING:

1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. half & half
1 stick butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Cook sugar and half & half slowly. Boil until reaches soft ball stage. Add butter and flavoring. Ice the banana cake while slightly warm, not hot.
