CHEESE BLINTZ (PASTRY) | |
1 loaf white bread, crust removed 8 oz. cream cheese 1/4 c. sugar 1 egg yolk 1 stick butter 3/4 c. sugar 2 tsp. cinnamon Mix together cream cheese and 1/4 cup sugar. Roll each slice of bread flat. Spread 1 teaspoon of cream cheese mixture on each slice. Combine butter, egg yolk and 3/4 cup sugar. Heat together until butter is melted and mixture smooth. Roll up each slice and dip in melted butter and egg mixture. Roll in sugar and cinnamon mixture. Freeze for at least 15 minutes. (Can be frozen for several weeks.) Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Serves 10-12. Kids enjoy making these. Good for tea parties and brunches. |
