ITALIAN MEATBALLS | |
2 lbs. ground beef 2 eggs Salt & pepper to taste 1 lg. jar Prego spaghetti sauce (reserve 1/2 c. for meatballs) 1/3 tsp. oregano 1 sm. onion, diced 1/3 tsp. garlic salt 1/4 tsp. sweet basil leaves 1/2 tsp. rosemary leaves (break into tiny pieces with fingers) 1 c. plain bread crumbs (can) Mix all ingredients together in large bowl (except 1/2 cup reserved Prego sauce). Form meat into small balls and bake in oven at 350 degrees until done, approximately 20 to 30 minutes. Drain meatballs on paper towel and place in crock pot. Cover meatballs with remainder of Prego sauce. Cook on low setting 4 1/2 to 5 hours or on high setting 2 1/2 hours. Can be cooked on stove top in a covered skillet on low temperature for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Other spaghetti sauces may be used, but will taste quite different. |
