1 box German chocolate cake mix
Ingredients for cake mix per pkg. directions
1 (14 oz.) bag caramels
3/4 c. butter
1 c. condensed milk
1 c. pecan pieces
1 c. chocolate chips

Prepare cake mix per package directions. Pour 1/2 of the batter into greased 13x9 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

Melt caramels and butter in double boiler then stir in milk. Sprinkle nuts and chocolate chips over baked 1/2 cake. Pour caramel mixture over this. Pour remainder of cake batter over the top and spread evenly. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
