ORANGE DROP COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1 c. butter
1 tbsp. grated orange peel
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 c. buttermilk

Cream shortening and sugar; add beaten eggs and orange peel and buttermilk. Gradually add flour, salt, soda and baking powder; mixing well after each addition. Drop by spoonsful onto greased baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Makes 6 dozen.

FROSTING:

1 1/2 tbsp. grated orange peel
4 tbsp. orange juice
3 tbsp. melted butter
2 1/2 c. powdered sugar

Mix all ingredients together and frost cooled cookies.
