KRIS KRINGLE 
PART 1:

1 c. flour
1/4 lb. butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. water

Mix like pie crust until dough forms a ball. Divide into two parts and spread on cookie sheet in two long strips approximately 3 inches wide.

PART 2:

Heat to boiling point in saucepan: 1 cup water and 1/4 pound butter. Remove from stove. Stir in 1 cup flour until smooth. Add 3 eggs one at a time and beat until smooth after each egg is added. Add 1/2 teaspoon almond extract. Spread on the two strips. Bake 45 minutes at 350 degrees.

PART 3:

Frosting: Mix together 1 cup sugar, 1 tablespoon melted butter, 1 teaspoon almond extract and enough milk or cream to make a good spreading consistency. Spread frosting on cooled pastry strips. Decorate with maraschino cherry halves or slices and nutmeats if desired. Freezes well, but is wonderful when fresh!
