ORANGE CRUSH POUND CAKE | |
1/4 c. butter, softened 1 c. vegetable shortening 2 3/4 c. sugar 5 eggs 3 c. sifted cake flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. Orange Crush (no substitutions) 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1 tsp. orange extract Cream butter, shortening and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each egg. Beat until light and fluffy. Sift flour and salt together; alternately add orange crush/flour to creamed mixture. Stir in flavoring. Pour into 10 inch tube pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Cool cake slightly and spread with frosting: 1/2 tsp. orange extract 1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, soft Combine and cream. Spread on warm cake. |
