PAM AND JESS'S TART | |
4 1/2 c. flour 2 tsp. baking powder 3 egg yolks 1 c. sugar 1/2 lb. butter and butter (room temperature) 1 c. sour cream 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt Sift flour with baking powder, salt, soda and sugar. Work butter into flour as for pie. Put egg yolks into sour cream and beat. Mix into flour. Blend by hand until soft and pliable. Press into jelly roll pan. Save some dough to make lattice top. Spread with cherry or blueberry pie filling (I use "Thank You brand), 1 can cherry filing on one half and 1 can blueberry on second half. Make lattice for top. Bake at 325 degrees for 30 to 45 minutes until gently browned. Sprinkle with powdered sugar to serve. |
