CHOCOLATE PECAN PIE
Pie crust mix for one 9 inch pie shell
4 tbsp. butter (1/2 stick)
3 sqs. semi-sweet chocolate
1 c. light corn syrup
1/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/4 tsp. salt
3 eggs
1 (6 oz.) can pecan halves
1/2 c. heavy or whipping cream for garnish

About 3 hours before serving, preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a 2 quart saucepan over low heat, heat butter and chocolate until smooth, stirring frequently. (You may cook these ingredients in a microwave on High for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes until partially melted. Stir until smooth.) Remove from heat. With a fork, beat in syrup, sugar, vanilla, salt, and eggs until well blended. Arrange pecans on the bottom of pie crust. Carefully pour egg mixture over them. Bake 1 hour or until knife inserted 1 inch from edge, comes out clean.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
