OATMEAL COOKIES 
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 1/4 c. self - rising flour
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
Dash nutmeg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. Crisco
2 eggs
2 c. dry Quaker oats
1 c. nuts, chopped

Cream sugars and Crisco well. Add cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla. Then add eggs and beat well. Add flour and mix well. Fold in oats and nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
