GINGERBREAD SUGAR COOKIES 
1/2 c. (1 stick) corn oil butter, room temperature
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. unsulfured molasses
1 egg
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
Additional sugar for sprinkling

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Lightly grease tin if using parchment. Cream butter and sugar. Beat molasses and egg. Stir in flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, nutmeg and salt. Drop heaping tablespoon of batter on cookie sheet. Using heel of hand, flatten dough. Sprinkle cookie with granulated sugar. Bake about 8 minutes. Remove and let set on sheet about 5 minutes. Makes about 1 1/2 dozen. Joanne's grandmother made these.
