GRANDMA'S SUGAR COOKIES 
2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
4 eggs
4 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. sour cream or milk
1 tsp. nutmeg
3/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
About 6 c. flour

These can be dropped but I prefer to roll them. Dough is easier to handle if set in the refrigerator at least an hour before rolling.

Are great for a frosted cookie but if you would rather; sprinkle with sugar before baking. Bake at 400 degrees. Makes about 6 dozen.
