BLACKBERRY CAKE 
2 c. sugar
6 eggs
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 lb. butter
1 c. sour cream
4 c. flour
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. blackberry jam or preserves

Cream sugar, butter then egg yolks. Add milk with soda added to sour cream. Add flour, save some for berries. Mix spices and berries rolled in flour. Fold in beaten egg whites. Makes 4 layers. Add pecans if desired.

ICING:

1 c. milk
2 c. sugar
1 stick butter

Boil until the mixture is thick enough to spread between the layers and on top of cake.
