BLACK DEVILS FOOD CAKE 
2 eggs, unbeaten
1/2 c. cocoa
1/2 c. strong hot coffee
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. baing powder
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Grease and flour two 8 inch pans. Combine cocoa and coffee. Stir well in another bowl. Sift together salt, flour, and baking powder in a large bowl. Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Add vanilla and flour mixture and cocoa mixture to this 1/2 at a time. Mix well. While beating pour into pan. Bake 45-50 minutes. Cool, frost with chocolate frosting. Top with cherries.
