SCONES 
2 c. flour
1/2 c. raisins
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. sour cream
1/4 c. vegetable oil
3 tbsp. milk
1 egg
Sprinkle Topping (below)

Heat oven to 425 degrees. Combine first 6 ingredients in a bowl. Add sour cream, oil, milk and egg, stirring until the dough clings on a well-floured surface. Toss the dough lightly until it no longer sticks. Knead the dough 12-15 times and divide in half. Pat each half of dough into a 6 inch circle with a slightly rounded top. Brush surface with milk and sprinkle with sugar. Cut each circle into 6 wedges. Place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Serve hot with butter and jam.

SPRINKLE TOPPING:

1 tbsp. milk
1 tbsp. sugar
