STUFFING FOR TURKEY | |
3 qts. bread cubes 1/2 pt. chopped celery 2 sm. onions, minced 2 hard cooked eggs, chopped Chopped, cooked giblets 1 tsp. parsley flakes 4 tsp. poultry seasoning or about 1 tbsp. powdered sage 3 eggs (raw), slightly beaten 1/2 c. butter, melted or turkey fat 4 1/2 c. or more hot milk or broth 3 tsp. salt 1 tsp. pepper Everyone has their own recipe for dressing. In the South, they use cubed corn bread and bread cubes. Some people like very moist dressing, others cut it out in squares. Make the change to suit your taste. Home style bread cubes will take more broth to moisten than American white bread. Chestnuts, almonds, raisins, and other seasonings are sometimes added. |
