CORNY DOGS 
1/2 c. corn meal
1 c. flour
2 tsp. sugar, optional
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. shortening
3/4 c. milk
8 frankfurters
1 egg, slightly beaten

Mix the dry ingredients and cut in the shortening. Combine milk and beaten egg. Mix with dry ingredients; dip frankfurters in the batter and deep fry at 365 degrees until they are browned. If you want them on a stick, insert a wooden skewer in the end, before dipping. Be sure you have mustard in the house, when you make these they call for liberal use of it.
