RED DEVILS FOOD CAKE 
2 c. sugar
3/4 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. cocoa
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. boiling water

Cream sugar and shortening, add 2 eggs. Alternate flour mixture with buttermilk. Add water last. Bake at 350 degrees.
