GREAT -GRANDMA'S GERMAN RIBS AND
KRAUT
 
3 lbs. lean spare ribs
1 1/2 - 2 lbs. sauerkraut
4 pig knuckles (optional)
1 tsp. caraway seeds or thyme

Place in large pot; cook until tender on low flame, about 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Add water if pot seems too dry.
