REAL ITALIAN SPAGHETTI | |
1 lb. lean ground beef 1 lb. Italian sausage 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste 1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes, chopped 1 lg. onion, chopped 2 lg. bell peppers, chopped 1 (4 oz.) jar whole mushrooms, drained 1 1/2 tsp. chopped fresh parsley 1 tsp. dried whole thyme 1 tsp. cumin seeds 1 tsp. dried whole basil 3/4 tsp. oregano 1/2 tsp. chili powder 1/4 tsp. ground turmeric 2 tbsp. garlic powder, divided 1 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese 1 pkg. spaghetti Grated Parmesan cheese Brown ground beef and sausage. Drain. Stir in next 13 ingredients. Add 1 tablespoon garlic powder, stirring well. Cover and simmer 20 minutes. Stir in an additional tablespoon of garlic powder; cover and simmer 15 minutes. Add Mozzarella cheese and stir well. Cover and simmer an additional 15 minutes. Prepare spaghetti according to package directions. Serve sauce over spaghetti. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. |
