1 box Duncan Hines yellow cake mix
1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple, do not drain
8 oz. Cool whip
1/2 c. coconut for the cake
1/2 c. coconut for the topping
1 lg. box vanilla instant pudding (3 c. cold milk)
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 c. sugar

Mix cake as directed adding 1/2 cup coconut. Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees. While cake is baking, boil for 10 minutes the crushed pineapple and sugar. Poke holes in the cake when it is done and pour pineapple mixture over the top of the cake while it is hot. Let the cake cool. Mix pudding and 3 cups milk. Spread over cooled cake, top with Cool Whip and sprinkle coconut and chopped nuts over the top. Refrigerate.
