1 c. white sugar
1 c. butter
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. + 1/4 c. + 2 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
Pinch of salt

Mix together and chill. Roll in small balls and press flat with fork dipped in milk. Bake in ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees about 12 minutes or until brown around outside.
