SAUSAGE MUSHROOM PIE | |
10 inch pie crust 10 oz. chopped spinach 1 lb. Italian sweet sausage 1 c. fresh mushrooms, sliced 1 onion, chopped 1 tbsp. butter 1/2 tsp. allspice 4 eggs, beaten 1 pt. heavy cream 8 oz. grated mozzarella cheese Cook spinach; drain. Remove sausage from casings, brown and drain. Saute onions and mushrooms in butter until tender. Add sausage and all spices to onions and mushrooms. Layer in pie shell: sausage, then spinach, then cheese. Mix cream and eggs; pour over pie. bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes. Reduce to 325 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes. Test with knife. |
