DRIED APPLES
2 c. lemon juice
2 tbsp. salt
Apples, cut 1/4" thick (pole to pole or across the equator)
Clear acrylic spray

Combine lemon juice and salt. Soak apples in solution for 5 minutes. Loosely line bottoms of oven racks with foil to catch lemon juice. Place apples on racks and bake at 150 to 200 degrees for 5 to 6 hours. When leathery looking and dry, remove. Watch closely if they start to brown. Turn temperature down. Must leave oven door open a little so moisture can escape. When cool, spray with clear acrylic spray to preserve. You can cut ends of apple into little pieces. Soak and dry in vegetable steamer in oven and turn frequently. To be used for crafts only, non edible.
