DEVILS FOOD CAKE 
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/4 c. sugar
2 egg yolks
1 c. buttermilk
Salt to taste
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and sugar, add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with buttermilk to above mixture. Bake in greased tube pan at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
