GERMAN APPLE CAKE | |
1 1/4 c. flour 1/2 c. butter 1 egg 4-5 apples, peeled and sliced 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 2 tbsp. milk Mix dry ingredient and butter until like pie crust. Add egg and milk; mix well. Pat into 11 1/2 x 7 1/2 inch glass baking dish, pressing and spreading dough about half way up the sides. Spread apples over dough. TOPPING: 3/4 c. sugar 1 1/2 tbsp. flour 1/4 tsp. cinnamon 2 tsp. (heaping) butter Mix all ingredients. Spread over apples. Bake 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until apples are done. |
