SAUSAGE BREAKFAST
2 c. pancake mix (Bisquick)
1 1/4 c. milk
2 eggs
2 tbsp. salad oil
1 (14 oz.) jar spiced apple rings
1 (8 oz.) pkg. link sausage

Combine pancake mix, milk, eggs and oil. Beat until smooth. Turn into greased 9x13-inch baking dish. Drain apple rings (reserve juice for syrup, if desired). Cut each sausage link in half crosswise. Arrange apple rings and links on top of batter so mixture can be cut into squares. Bake at 350°F for 30 to 35 minutes. Cut into squares and serve with maple or spiced apple syrup.

Spiced Apple Syrup:

Juice from apple rings and additional water to make 2/3 c.
1/3 c. sugar
4 tsp. cornstarch
3/4 c. maple syrup
1 tbsp. butter

Cook apple ring juice and water, sugar and cornstarch until thick. Add maple syrup and butter. Serve warm or cold over sausage breakfast.
