TURNIPS - THE BEST 
6 med. turnips
3 tbsp. butter (divided)
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. sugar
5 tbsp. water
3 med. onions
Few sprigs parsley
1 tbsp. lemon juice
Anise seed, optional

Peel turnips and cut into 1/2-inch cubes. Cook in 1 1/2 tablespoons butter, salt, sugar and water, 10-15 minutes, until almost done, covered.

Chop onions and parsley; add lemon juice and 1 1/2 tablespoons butter; cook in separate skillet until onions are transparent. Mix all together and serve at once. Sprinkle with anise seed, optional.
