FRESH BLACKBERRY CAKE 
1/2 c. butter (room temperature)
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/4 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 3/4 c. flour
1 c. fresh blackberries

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter and flour 2 eight inch cake pans. Cream butter and add sugar, beating until fluffy. Add eggs and buttermilk, beating again. Sift togethr flour, soda, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and add in fourths to the creamed mixture, beating well. Fold in berries. Pour batter in pans and bake 20 to 25 minutes and let cool. When room temperature and ice.

Cream 1/2 cup butter with 2 cups confectioners sugar until light. Adding sugar gradually then add 1 egg and 1 teaspoon vanilla, beating well. Ice bottoms and sides of cake garnish with berries.
