SWEDISH MEAT BALLS 
1 med. sized onion, chopped fine
4 tbsp. butter
1 egg
2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper and MSG
2 lbs. lean beef, ground twice
1 c. milk
1/2 c. fine bread crumbs
2 egg yolks
1 tsp. ground allspice
1/2 tsp. sugar

Saute onion in 1 tablespoon butter until golden. Soak bread crumbs in milk. Beat together 1 egg and 2 yolks until light - mix in spices and sugar. Stir in soaked bread crumbs, sauteed onion and ground beef, mixing thoroughly.

Roll into balls about 1 1/2 inch in diameter. Saute in the remaining butter, using 1 tablespoon at a time, turning to brown all sides. Makes about three dozen.
