QUICK APPLE DANISH 
2 c. sifted flour
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening
1 egg yolk slightly beaten plus enough milk to make 2/3 c.

Sift flour, sugar and salt in bowl. Cut in shortening. Add liquid. Cut in half; roll out. Cover cookie sheet with pastry and cover pastry with 1 cup crushed corn flakes. Add a thick layer of thin sliced apples.

Mix 1 cup sugar with 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Spread over apple slices. Put remaining dough on top. Beat egg white and spread over top of pastry. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.

While hot mix 1 cup confectioners' sugar with enough lemon juice to make runny icing and dribble over top crust. Cool. Cut in squares.
