SPUMONI 
2 c. milk
3/4 c. sugar
5 egg yolks
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Combine milk, sugar, egg yolks, and vanilla in saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thick. Cool, place in refrigerator tray, and freeze medium hard (about 2 hours). It should be soft enough to spoon out easily.

FILLING:

2 c. heavy cream, beaten stiff
1/2 c. sugar
16 maraschino cherries, cut into sm. pieces
2 tbsp. candied orange peel, cut fine
16 shelled, blanched almonds, cut into slivers
