SWEET-SOUR CABBAGE 
1 lg. head red cabbage, finely shredded
2 lg. Granny Smith apples, finely sliced
1/4 c. water
2 tbsp. red wine vinegar
2 tbsp. light brown sugar
1 tsp. caraway seeds, crushed (optional)
Salt
Freshly ground pepper

In a large saucepan, combine cabbage, apples, water, vinegar, brown sugar and caraway seeds. Season with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer about 10 minutes until cabbage and apples are tender. Makes 6 servings.
