1 c. flour 1/4 c. cornstarch 2 tbsp. sugar 2 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt (optional) 1/3 c. corn oil butter 2 eggs 1/3 c. milk Sift flour, cornstarch, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in butter. Mix eggs and milk (save 2 tablespoons to brush on top). Add milk mixture to flour. Mix with fork until dough forms a ball (quite a dry mixture). Pat into 6 inch squares and 1/2 inch thick. Cut in pre-shaped wedge. Brush with reserved egg and milk. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes. Eat warm with butter. |
