CINNAMON COFFEE CAKE 
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. butter
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 c. milk
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Mix brown sugar and cinnamon; cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Set aside. Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Cream shortening in large bowl. Beat in sugar, egg, and vanilla. Stir in flour mixture alternating with milk. Pour into greased 8 inch square pan. Sprinkle with brown sugar mixture. Bake at 425 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm.
