BROCCOLI WITH CREAMY WHITE SAUCE 
This recipe is excellent for broccoli or cauliflower even asparagus and if your children do not like these vegetables they will with this! My kids call me every holiday for this simple white sauce with a twist! Enjoy!

2 tbsp. flour
2 tbsp. butter
2 cups milk
1 1/2 lemon
1 tsp. parsley
1 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. thyme
1 tsp. salt and pepper

In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat, add flour (cornstarch may also be used) whisk until blended, slowly add milk whisking constantly (white sauce) mixture will be smooth a bit thicker than gravy is what you want. Lower heat, let simmer while stirring constantly, add spices and lemon.

You want this to be thick, allowing for the liquid from your vegetables, whether you steam, boil or saute, this sauce is the perfect topping. Simmer while cooking your broccoli/cauliflower/asparagus, with asparagus. I add more lemon!

Adjust this recipe to suit your taste.
