STARLIGHT MINT SURPRISE COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
2 unbeaten eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 (9 oz.) pkg. solid mint wafers
Walnut halves

Cream butter, sugars until well creamed. Add eggs and vanilla, beat well. Sift together flour, baking soda and salt. Blend into creamed mixture thoroughly. Chill for 2 hours.

To shape: Enclose each wafer in about a tablespoon of chilled dough. (This may be done by forming a ball in floured palm of hand. Insert wafer and flatten dough to conceal wafer. Place on ungreased baking sheet about 2 inches apart. Top with a walnut half. Bake at 375 degrees for 9-12 minutes.
