PRUNE CAKE AND ICING 
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
1 cup buttermilk
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. allspice
1 cup cooked prunes, chopped
1 cup chopped nuts

Mix together sugar, oil, eggs, vanilla, baking soda and buttermilk, then mix in the rest. Bake at 325°F for 40 minutes. Cool and cover with Icing.

Icing:

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. white corn syrup
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Mix ingredients together and boil for 2 minutes. Pour over cake in pan. Let set for 1 hour after icing is poured over cake.
