SHIRLEY'S BREAKFAST CASSEROLE 
Remove crust from 12 slices of bread. Brown 1 pound sausage and 1/4 cup chopped green peppers. Drain thoroughly on paper towels. Place in small bowl and stir in 1-2 teaspoons mustard.

Melt 1 stick butter in small skillet. Dip one side of 6 slices of bread in melted butter. Place buttered side down in bottom of 9 x 13 inch pyrex dish. Place 1 slice American cheese on top of each bread slice. Place sausage mixture on top of cheese. Place 6 more slices of cheese on top of sausage. Dip one side of 6 remaining slices of bread in melted butter and place buttered side up on top of cheese layer.

Combine:

6 lg. eggs, lightly beaten
4 c. milk
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/8 tsp. ground black pepper
1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/8 tsp. salt

Beat together and pour over layers in baking dish. Cover tightly and let set in refrigerator overnight. Bake at 350 degrees about 1 hour or until golden brown and center is set.
