STRAWBERRY PRETZEL SALAD (OR
DESSERT)
 
1 1/2 c. coarsely crushed pretzels
3/4 c. melted butter
1 c. sugar
1 (6 oz.) pkg. strawberry Jello
2 (10 oz.) pkgs. frozen strawberries
2 tbsp. sugar
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 (9 oz.) carton Cool Whip
2 c. boiling water

Mix pretzel crumbs, 2 tablespoons sugar and butter. Spread in 9"x13" ungreased pan. Bake at 350 degree oven for 10 minutes. Cool. Combine cream cheese, 1 cup sugar and Cool Whip; mix well. Spread on cooled crust. Refrigerate for 2 hours. Dissolve Jello in water and stir in strawberries; allow to thicken slightly; then pour over cream cheese mixture. Refrigerate overnight and cut in squares to serve.
