SWISS STEAK 
1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 lb. round steak
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
2 c. water
2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
Hot egg noodles or mashed potatoes

Cut steak into serving size pieces. Dredge in flour, salt and pepper. Pound to tenderize. Brown on all sides in oil. Arrange in layers with onion in baking dish. Add water and Worcestershire. Cover and bake at 325°F for 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until the meat is very tender. Remove to platter and keep warm, reserving pan juices. Serve over noodles or potatoes with gravy.

Gravy:

1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 1/4 c. beef broth
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper

Combine flour, salt and pepper with broth until smooth. Add to pan juices and bring to boil over medium heat. Cook and stir for 2 minutes.
