APPLE KUCHEN 
1/2 to 3/4 c. butter softened
1 pkg. yellow cake mix

Mix together for crust.

TOPPING:

1 c. sour cream
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 egg
1/2 c. flaked coconut
2 1/2 c. sliced & pared baking apples (about 7) can substitute well drained (20 oz.) pie sliced apples in a can

Preheat 350 degree oven. Cut butter into dry cake mix until crumb consistency, stir in coconut. Pat mixture lightly into ungreased 9 x 13 inch pan, building edges up slightly. Bake 10 minutes. Arrange apple slices on warm crust. Blend sour cream and egg. Mix sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over apples, drizzle sour cream over all (topping won't cover apples completely). Bake 25 minutes until edges are light brown (don't overbake). Serve warm, makes 12 to 15 servings.
