BREAD AND BUTTER PICKLES 
4 qts. sliced cucumbers
6 sliced onions
1/3 c. salt
4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. ginger
1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
1 1/2 tsp. celery salt
1 tbsp. mustard seed
3 c. vinegar

Wash and slice cucumbers, add onions and salt; let stand for 2-3 hours. Heat remaining ingredients to boiling and add cucumbers and onions. Simmer 5 minutes and pack in clean jars. 6-7 pints.
