BREAD AND BUTTER PICKLES 
5 med. cucumbers, sliced
3 med. onions, sliced
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. cider vinegar
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. mustard seed
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/4 tsp. turmeric
1/2 tsp. celery seed
1 c. water

Combine cucumbers, onions and salt; allow to stand for 2 hours. Rinse and drain; combine the remaining ingredients, mixing well. Heat and add the cucumber and onion slices. Cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes; seal, hot in scalded Mason jars. Makes 3 pints.
