FRENCH FRIED ONION RINGS 
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 egg (beaten)
1 c. milk
1 tbsp. cooking oil
About 4 lg. onions

Combine flour, baking powder and salt; set aside. Combine egg, milk and oil; mix well. Add to dry ingredients and mix until smooth. Cover and set aside while preparing onions.

Slice onions about 1/4 inch thick. Dip a few onion rings at a time into batter so that each ring is completely covered. Drop into deep hot oil. Turn rings as they brown (turn only once). Drain on paper towel.
