LIME PICKLES 
7 1/2 lbs. sliced cucumbers
2 c. lime
2 qts. vinegar
9 c. sugar
2 gal. water
2 tbsp. mixed pickling spices
1 bottle green food color

Peel cucumbers (large ones or use yellow ones). Cut lengthwise and take out seeds. Cut in bite size pieces. Put in the 2 cups lime and 2 gallons water for 24 hours. Pour off lime water. Soak in clean water 3 hours, drain. Make syrup and pour over pickles; set overnight. Next day, boil for 40 minutes. Can and seal.
