HOLIDATE COOKIES
1 c. butter
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. milk
1 egg yolk
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 (1 lb.) pkg. whole dates
Powdered sugar

Begin by creaming the butter and cream cheese. Then add the sugar and continue to cream. Next add the milk and the egg yolk and beat well.

Sift flour and baking powder together. Add to butter mixture and mix until a dough is formed. Refrigerate for two to three hours.

After the refrigeration period, roll the dough out on a well floured surface to a thickness of 1/4". Using a floured cookie cutter or the top of a glass, cut cookie rounds 1 1/2" to 2" across. Re-roll the dough scraps and cut rounds until all is used. Place cookies 1/2" apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Press the whole date into the center of each.

Bake at 400 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool. Dust with powdered sugar.
