BROWN EDGED BUTTER COOKIES 
3/4 c. flour
1/8 tsp. salt
1 c. soft butter
1/3 c. white sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg

Sift flour and salt and set aside. Add to 1/2 cup soft butter, 1/3 cup white sugar, vanilla and egg. Beat with wooden spoon until light and fluffy. Add dry ingredients. Drop by half teaspoonful onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 7 to 9 minutes at 350 degrees.
