BIG BATCH YEAST BREAD (WHITE) | |
3 yeast, dissolved in 1 c. warm water 3 c. warm milk 3 c. warm water 1 c. honey, warmed 1 1/2 sticks butter, melted 2 tbsp. salt About 15 to 18 c. flour No need to boil, it's already boiled to death. Dissolve yeast in warm water in large bowl. Add warm milk, water, honey, butter and salt. Stir well, add about 6 cups flour. Beat with egg beater to make soft batter. Then hand knead as much flour as needed to make a dough that's not sticky. Place in greased bowl and let rise 45 minutes in warm place. Punch down and place in bread pans. Let rise again until double in size. Bake at 375 degrees for about 30 minutes. Turn out onto rack and butter tops while hot. Makes 6 large loaves. |
