12 slices French bread, 1 inch thick
6 eggs
4 c. milk
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Place bread in 13 x 9 x 2 pan. Combine all other ingredients and beat well. Pour over bread and refrigerate overnight. Melt 1 tablespoon butter in electric skillet (300). Remove bread and cook 10-12 minutes each side or until cooked through. Serve hot with orange butter. Serves 6.

ORANGE BUTTER:

Cream 1/2 cup soft butter until light and fluffy. Add 1/2 cup orange juice and enough confectioners sugar to spread.
